Oooooooooo. I just went to We are IT’s website, and this is what I found.
First, let me explain what We are IT is. It is a program focused on bringing more and more women into technology fields. Awesome. I’m a woman in technology, and it’s mighty lonely over here.
HOWEVER
Let me point out the blatantly photoshopped girl on the left hand side. This is fucking disgusting. She looks like the lovechild of a very bad graphic design intern and barbie. It’s gross. It looks fake. This is not what women in IT look like. This offends me quite a bit, and it leaves me very conflicted. As much as I love women in IT, I DO NOT love this fake bullshit. Oh, and it’s a white, blonde-haired girl. Because women in IT are not of PoC.
